The company was established in 1980 under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the late ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and since then Julphar has been delivering high quality, innovative and affordable healthcare solutions to families across the globe.
Our business is centered on three core business units – Julphar Diabetes Solutions, General Medicines and our consumer division. Our medicines target major therapeutic segments including Gastrointestinal Tract (GIT), Respiratory, Pain Management, Wounds and Scars, Anti-infectives, Anemia, Gynecology, Dermatology, Erectile Dysfunction and Cardiology.
We employ around 2,500 people and distribute our products to more than 50 countries on five continents. Our 13 internationally accredited facilities in Africa, the Middle East produce more than a million boxes of medicine a day. In 2012, we became one of the world’s largest producers of insulin thanks to our state-of-the-art UAE-based biotechnology facility.
