Title:  Key Account Specialist

Job Summary/Main Purpose

The Key Account Specialist will be responsible in handling client accounts, updating reports and monitoring solution strategies.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the delivery of territory sales targets and key performance indicators.
  • Delivers effective, compelling sales calls and presentations.
  • Compiles, monitors, delivers, and reviews the territory business plan in close liaison with the RBM and NHS Liaison Manager.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the national and local healthcare system and how it impacts on territory potential.
  • Demonstrates full understanding of product strategies, therapy knowledge, key competitors, marketing plan and communication objectives.
  • Develops long term business relationships through regular contact with relevant customers to maximize business opportunities in both the primary and secondary care sectors.
  • Develops local level opinion leaders and speakers and co-ordinate speaker meetings and symposia to enhance brand perception and product usage.
  • Responsible for routinely feedback local competitor and market intelligence to RBM, NHS Liaison Manager and Marketing teams.

 

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Attributes)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or any related medical field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience handling key accounts in pharmaceutical field.
  • Proven track record of high level sales experience, preferably with wider experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or commercial roles.
  • High level of commercial acumen with experience in managing a promotional budget.
  • Sound understanding of business planning and account management skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK pharmaceutical industry and the NHS.
  • Effectively manages and prioritizes available resources.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and decision making.
  • Action oriented, energetic and results focused.
