Title:  Director - Engineering

Detailed Job Description:

  1. Support CTO towards the implementation of the Engineering expertise to achieve overall strategic and operational plans.

  2. Lead the Engineering operations activities including - Projects, Engineering, Calibration and facility management.

  3. Lead the development and implementation of new technologies, methodologies and systems to drive innovation thru Engineering in products manufacturing

  4. Responsible for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), commissioning, Installation Qualification & Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ), of GMP facilities and equipment.

  5. Establish and develop a comprehensive Maintenance & Operation management system that ensure the correct functioning of Production equipment & Engineering utilities and complying with GMP guidelines

  6. Ensure effective communication and project plan alignment between business stakeholders, users, Facilities Operations, maintenance, site services, securities, IT, Procurement, Finance, Legal, HR, and all departments regarding all facilities operation's issues

  7. Establish and Develop Engineering reporting system that facilitates easy analysis and interpretation of all engineering equipment data and appropriate actions taken to mitigate risks.

  8. Ensure readiness of all relevant Engineering documents for any regularity audits.

  9. Responsible for maximizing the Equipment uptime.

  10. Ensure Safety norms as per EHS policy of the site.

  11. Direct the planning, allocation of resources (physical and human) and oversee the implementation of appropriate process controls and instructions to ensure that all plant production and engineering work is carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

  12. Ensure the application of and adherence to a robust quality management system in engineering functions.

  13. Direct Engineering operational enhancement activities to improve the overall plant Engineering and maintenance operations.

  14. Procurement of engineering items and capital equipment and oversee new projects design, planning and execution.

  15. Develop and execute the engineering department's strategic plan in alignment with the overall company's goals and objectives, ensuring that engineering efforts are directed towards achieving business results and driving innovation.

  16. Provide visionary leadership and guidance to the engineering team, setting clear expectations, motivating and inspiring team members, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  17. Drive engineering excellence by establishing and maintaining best practices, standards, and processes for engineering functions, ensuring that outcome solutions meet or exceed customer requirements and industry standards.

  18. Direct the development and oversee the implementation of Engineering Management System so that all relevant procedural/regulatory requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost- effective product.

  19. Develop the KPls for Engineering departments, ensuring alignment with core strategies of the organization and its transformation journey.

  20. Ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives of the Engineering function - setting divisional & individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, providing formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to ensure that the highest level of performance is achieved.

  21. Provide professional advice, guidance and support to all levels of the task in the Engineering Functions and ensure continuous improvement so that the Operational Capability of the business is optimized.

  22. Define an optimum organization structure for the function, so that resources are optimally utilized and communications can be executed in an efficient manner.

  23. Identify, recruit, develop and retain qualified professionals to provide technical engineering support to the site.

  24. Ensure that the required initial and continuing training of the department personnel is carried out and adapted according to the needs of the Organization in coordination with HR and training.

  25. Support the Management team in driving turn around & growth, with a perspective doing things better first time and always.

Qualifications:

  • Post Graduate degree in Engineering or any related scientific discipline.

  • 15 years of experience in Pharmaceutical industries in Equipment Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Utility systems (Water, HVAC,Electricity) Operation & Maintenance management systems with minimum 5 years in a similar leadership role.

  • Proven track record of establishing and managing Green field and Brown field pharma projects

  • Expertise in GMP regulations and requirements for manufacturing-facility utilities that includes understanding of cGMP & Quality compliance

  • Experience in the Equipment Installation & Operation Qualifications as well as Plant commissioning, qualification and validation requirements

  • Experience in managing OPEX & CAPEX budgets and ensuring projects stay within budget and timeline.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage complexity with multiple projects and contacts efficiently.
