Job Summary / Main Purpose:

 

The Business Development Manager will be responsible in  strategizing & implementing the BD Strategy of  Julphar, supporting the financial growth and development of the organization. The role holder should support the Business Development function by on ground execution of strategic goals and introduce new revenue-generating opportunities. Responsible to analyzes product distribution needs and proposed effective and profitable distribution strategies. Initiates the registration of the brand in all countries, proposing forecasts, prices, and market shares, coordinate all relevant tasks to assure product registration. Also, Follow up project status, update.  Prepares periodic reports for the ongoing strategic projects and initiatives.The Business Development Manager will access the market as per the given strategic direction, by sourcing, screening, and evaluating new products and business prospects. The position also requires identifying and evaluating the new product targets, and to achieve competitive intelligence in the Company’s project areas.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Business Leadership:

  • Strategize in coordination with the HOD for the entire product line life cycle with specific strategy formulation, recommendations on major tactical activities to achieve qualitative and quantitative objectives, developing the appropriate tools
  • Responsible for sourcing, screening, evaluating, and leading new products and market access.
  • Build professional relationships with statutory authorities, governing bodies, distribution network, ensuring strategical advantage in respective countries to achieve business objectives.
  • Manages the contract negotiations and coordinate with all relevant functional teams the successful completion of the specific form of agreement. 
  • Provides market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas.
  • Drives increased revenue and profit to achieve the Company’s ambitious growth.
  • Analyzes product distribution needs and proposed effective and profitable distribution strategies.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Conducts strategic and financial analysis that guide brands and its business development decisions including in-licensing pipeline opportunities, commercial co-promotion, and international opportunities.
  • Weekly/bi-weekly update & analytics to the Head of Department & other relevant stakeholder
  • Identifies new generic product development opportunities that support the corporate strategy through market and industry research.
  • Increase Customer Prescription/ Usage and create innovative programs for better Agent / Distributors management in the concerned geography
  • Work with relevant stakeholders in pursuing partnerships and licensing arrangements in the given country and region
  • Must showcase the ability in relevant soft skills including change management, continuous improvement, conflict resolution and consensus building activities.

  • Contribute to high productivity and motivation of working team with the use of communication skills and cooperation; reach and realize Sales Target thru proper input to his team
  • Stay up to date on job knowledge and also encourage team members to participate in educational opportunities, attending conferences and workshops, reading professional publications, maintaining a personal network and joining professional community organizations.
  • Deliver proactive and effective communication related to improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to determine their challenges in hand and recommend solutions

  • Awareness of and strong ability to handle regulatory procedures & compliance from Business Development point of view
  • Subject matter expert and must be very strong on leadership competence
  • Must be highly result oriented with strong sense of accountability & ownership,
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skill.
  • Should be calm and composed to work in complex and ambiguous situations

Qualifications, Key Experiences / Functional Knowledge Requirements: 

 

  • 4 years Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy / Science/ Commerce
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration is highly an advantage.
  • Having 8-10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry & in that at least 4 years should be in Business Development Manager role in in MEA & other geographies.
  • Must possess proven track record of successfully pitching for new business.
  • Strong ability to formulate company position and negotiate agreements; accordingly
  • Must possess strong working knowledge of Distributor / Agents operations, Government accounts, tendering processes, contracting and pricing methods.
  • Functional knowledge of the clinical aspects of the pharmaceutical industry, supply chain, dispensing requirements and drug distribution channels
  • Experience working with matrixed, geographically distributed and functionally diverse work groups is preferred.
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships with the Commercial ,Operations, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality and other key stakeholders is required.
