Title: Specialist - Strategic Sourcing
Summary of the Responsibilities/Job summary:
Responsible sourcing of direct materials related to Single approved vendor project, R&D, Technology Transfer, and New Product Launches by ensuring timely vendor coordination, compliance, documentation, and execution of sourcing activities in line with cost, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Detail of the Job Responsibilities/Key result areas:
Main Responsibilities
1. Operational sourcing Support
- Coordinate with R&D, Quality, and Planning teams to gather specifications and requirements for new and existing direct materials.
- Execute purchase requisitions and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing RFQs (Request for Quotation) and initial vendor comparisons.
2. Supplier Engagement & Documentation
- Support the onboarding of new suppliers as part of the Single Approved Vendor (SAV) initiative.
- Maintain updated supplier information including qualification documents, certifications, and contracts.
- Conduct initial supplier research and assist with technical and commercial evaluation processes.
3. Contract Management & Compliance
- Maintain records of contracts, supply agreements, and audit trails as per procurement procedures.
- Support in monitoring contract performance, reporting deviations or risks to the manager.
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to internal policies and external regulatory guidelines.
4. Cost Optimization & Data Analysis
- Track procurement KPIs (lead times, PPV, supplier performance) and generate reports to support cost-saving initiatives.
- Assist in identifying trends and areas for process improvement through data analysis.
- Collaborate with the manager to develop savings strategies and implement sourcing best practices.
5. New Product Launch Support
- Support first-time material sourcing and vendor coordination for New Product Launches.
- Monitor timelines and follow up with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure procurement readiness.

Qualification/Functional knowledge
Key Experiences / Functional Knowledge Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, chemistry or science.
• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in quality, R&D, procurement or supply chain roles, preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
• Knowledge: Basic understanding of pharmaceutical materials and procurement processes.
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems; MS Excel proficiency is a must.
• Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
